SMURFIT-STONE’S BRAMPTON, MILWAUKEE, AND SCHAUMBURG FLEXIBLE PACKAGING PLANTS EARN ISO 9001:2000 RECERTIFICATION
Three Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation flexible packaging plants have achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 recertification of their quality management systems. All three facilities had previously been certified under ISO 9000:1994 standards.
“Smurfit-Stone offers some of the industry’s most complete selections of flexible packaging structures and materials,” said Gary McDaniel, vice president of flexible packaging. “Our CustomerONESM operating philosophy is focused on delivering the highest quality products and services to our customers, and ISO certification is part of that quality process.”
The Brampton, ON, facility received notice of certification from Orion Registrar Inc. USA. The certification is applicable to the manufacture and design of industrial packaging products based on mono- and co-extruded films using polymer technology.
Smurfit-Stone’s Milwaukee, WI, plant received notice of certification from the National Standards Authority of Ireland. The scope of the certification applies to the design and manufacture of flexible packaging.
The Schaumburg, IL, plant also received notice of certification from the National Standards Authority of Ireland. The scope of the certification applies to the design and manufacture of flexible packaging for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
