Smurfit-Stone Names Del Brooks General Manager of Jacksonville Containerboard Mill
CHICAGO, March 22, 1999 - Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation (Nasdaq: SSCC) has named Del Brooks general manager at its Jacksonville, FL, containerboard mill. He is replacing John West, who retired February 1 after contributing almost 40 years to the paper industry.
Brooks joined the company in 1977 and has worked at facilities in Circleville, OH; Vernon, CA; Santa Clara, CA; and most recently at the Alton, IL, mill, where he was general manager. The Alton mill discontinued operations December 1 as part of a company-wide restructuring.
A native of Savannah, GA, Brooks earned his BS in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech.
