Jefferson Smurfit Corporation (U.S.) Reports 2000 Results
February 1, 2001 Jefferson Smurfit Corporation (U.S.) reported
net income of $151 million in 2000, compared to net income of $272 million
in 1999. The 1999 results include a $407 million pre-tax gain ($245 after-tax
gain) on the sale of assets. Sales in 2000 were $3.9 billion compared
to $3.4 billion in 1999.
